The FR MIX method is an advanced-beginner method for solving a 3x3 Rubik’s Cube. It combines elements of the Fridrich CFOP and Roux methods, which is where the name “FR MIX” comes from. With practice, this method can help you solve a 3x3 cube in under 60 seconds.
The method consists of four steps and only nine algorithms. The first two steps are based on Fridrich’s CFOP method: creating the cross and then solving the first two layers (F2L). The third and fourth steps adopt the CMLL (Corners of the Last Layer) and LSE (Last Six Edges) approaches from the Roux method.

STEPS
Step 1 — CFOP: Set Up the White Cross
This step is intuitive and relatively easy to learn with practice. Hint: Skip the daisy!
Step 2 — CFOP: Complete the First Two Layers
This step is also intuitive. However, you can improve your solving speed by learning and recognizing all the F2L cases.
Step 3 — Roux: Solve the Corners of the Last Layer (CMLL)
This step consists of two parts, with only one algorithm to learn for each part. If you want to improve your speed further, you can learn all 42 CMLL algorithms and complete this step in a single part.
Step 4 — Roux: Solve the Last Six Edges (LSE)
The final step is to solve the last six edges, completing the entire cube. It consists of two parts. You will learn three simple algorithms for the first part and four for the second.
With practice, you will become better at recognizing the cases in Part 2, allowing you to execute the algorithms more quickly and reduce your overall solving time.
